Brighton Street Photowalk

Time & Location

06 May, 10:00 – 15:30

Brighton, Brighton, UK

About the event

For this photowalk we’ll be visiting the beautiful seaside town of Brighton.

We'll start off at the meetinhg point in Brighton and make our way though the streets and we'll end up on the seafront at Brighton near to the pier.

There are plenty of opportunities to capture the character of Brighton and it's residents.

This session is suitable for users of DSLR, Compact and smartphone camera users.

 — Nyondwa, A“I really want to thank you for Saturday. I particularly had a great time and enjoyed the walk, tips, and lessons. I had always thought of street Photography as a super discreet and close to impossible genre, but with your tips, and the ‘freedom to photograph’ that London offers, I should go out and photograph more often.”

What can you expect?

This photowalk is suitable for all user levels. For those that are not familiar with street photography  we’ll start with a short brief on the concepts of framing using the rule of thirds, composing your image, use of light, colours, and approach to your subject.  During the photowalk you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and review your images for tips and guidance on improvement.

What not to expect

If you are not familiar with the basic functionality of your camera it is not practical or fair to others to provide detailed one to one tuition during a group walk.  We can provide tailored sessions for you should you be interested in this level of mentoring, please contact us in advance to make arrangements.

Although the cost of the session is covered in this ticket you will be required to make your own way to and from Brighton. Tickets costs are from £13.70 return from London Bridge at 8.35am. You may be able to obtain cheaper tickets by utilising an off peak return or if you are in possession of a student railcard. Do book your train ticket in advance as prices on the day are likely to be substantially more.

Please:

  • Charge your batteries/Phone
  • Format your memory cards
  • Wear comfortable footwear
  • Check the weather beforehand and ensure you dress appropriately
  • You will not need a tripod or flash.
